International Dance Festival workshops
In these weeklong workshop for intermediate and advanced dancers, artists Leslie Arbogast, Leanne Rinelli and Leslie Friedman will teach Dunham, Salsa and contemporary dance techniques as part of the International Dance Festival @ Silicon Valley. No prior training necessary for Salsa necessary. The participants will perform in a concert open to the public on Aug. 17. Scholarships are available. Aug. 11-15. $325 for all three workshops (lower rates available for one or two). Mountain View Masonic Center, 890 Church St., Mountain View.
Rengstorff Arts Festival exhibit
Works by local artists in watercolor, oil, photography, print and fiber will be on display at this month-long show in the Rengstorff House. Featured works will be by students in the Arts in Action Program at the Community School of Music and Arts. Aug. 1-31, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sundays 1-5 p.m. Free. 'Into the Woods, Junior'
For the final play in its 2014 Outdoor Summer "Hot Dog" Series, the Palo Alto Children's Theatre will put on a production called "Into the Woods, Junior." Favorite fairytale characters will take a journey into the woods to fulfill their wishes in this 80-minute, family drama. Wednesday-Sunday, July 30-Aug. 16, 6:30-8 p.m. $12-$14.
