'Water by the Spoonful'
TheatreWorks will put on a production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, "Water by the Spoonful," a story about a community of strangers who find refuge in an online chat room. Tuesday-Saturday, Aug. 20-Sept. 14, see website for specific times and dates. $19-$74. Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St., Mountain View.

FabMo Fashion Show
The Mountain View Senior Center will host an afternoon fashion show where designers from FabMo will show off custom outfits made from materials otherwise destined for the landfill. Senior Center patrons will model the clothing. The event will also include refreshments and a raffle. Aug. 21, 2 p.m. Free. Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave., Mountain View.

'Night, Smoke and Shadows'
This exhibition, named "Night, Smoke and Shadows: The Presence of Atmosphere in the 19th Century," includes prints, drawings and photographs by artists such as James McNeill Whistler, Max Klinger, Felicien Rops and Alvin Langdon Coburn. 'War of the Worlds'
This Stanford Repertory Theater production will re-create Orson Welles' 1938 radio broadcast of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds," which tricked some listeners into believing there was an alien invasion.
