Music: Top Shelf Classics
Palo Alto's Town & Country Village starts its free summer concert season today, July 3, with a performance by Motown, R&B, funk and doo-wop band Top Shelf Classics. Concerts are 6 to 8 p.m. at the center entrance at Embarcadero Road near El Camino Real.

Community: Fireworks at Shoreline
The San Francisco Symphony's annual Independence Day concert and fireworks show starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, the Fourth of July, at Shoreline Amphitheatre. The two-hour show features rousing tunes from Broadway, Hollywood and the Olympics. Shoreline Lake Aquatic Center is offering extended paddle-boat rentals for viewing fireworks from the lake.
