Theater: 'Hanging Georgia'
"Hanging Georgia," opening tonight at 8 p.m. at the Pear Avenue Theatre on 1220 Pear Ave. in Mountain View, tells the story of painter Georgia O'Keeffe and her relationship with Alfred Stieglitz. Script by Palo Alto playwright Sharmon Hilfinger and music by Joan McMillen.

Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 -27
Music: Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble with Ray Vega
Special guest Latin jazz trumpeter Ray Vega joins the Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Murray Low, on Saturday, May 25, at 8 p.m. Vega was the lead trumpet player for Latin giants Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, and Mario Bauza, and a jazz trumpeter with the Duke Ellington and Vanguard Jazz orchestras, as well as classical composer Osvaldo Golijov. He has arranged several pieces specifically for this performance. Dinkelspiel Auditorium, 471 Lagunita Drive, Stanford.

Shoreline Lake Aquatic Center is offering 50 percent discounts to active military and their families in honor of Memorial Day, for lessons and watersports rentals.
